Dr. Jenny Kopsch-Xhema appointed SimTech’s new Managing Director

Since the beginning of May, Dr. sc. agr. Jenny Kopsch-Xhema supports both the Stuttgart Center for Simulation Science and the Cluster of Excellence “Data-Integrated Simulation Science” as Managing Director.

I am very much looking forward to the new task and the associated challenges. I will be actively accompanying and helping to shape the successful story of SimTech in the coming years”, Jenny Kopsch-Xhema said on the occasion of her appointment.

Before joining SimTech, she was the Managing Director of the Food Security Center at the University of Hohenheim where she supported the establishment and expansion of the center. Before that, she worked as a research fellow and later on as coordinator of the International Research Training Group "Modeling Material Flows and Production Systems for Sustainable Resource Use in Intensified Crop Production in the North China Plain" funded by DFG. Since 2007 she held the position as a science manager for different international research projects at academic institutions worldwide (China, Russia, Ukraine, South Eastern Europe, Ethiopia) funded by a variety of sponsors such as EU, DFG, BMBF, BMZ, DAAD.

With Dr. Kopsch-Xhema we are expanding our team with a highly experienced Managing Director for the Cluster and the Center. We will definitely benefit from her extensive experience and we are very much looking forward to working with her”, Prof. Ertl, Director and spokesperson of the Cluster, emphasized when welcoming her to the management team.
