Simulation Science for Complex Challenges
The Stuttgart Center for Simulation Science (SC SimTech) is the University of Stuttgart’s central platform for interdisciplinary simulation science. Bringing together researchers from mathematics, engineering, the natural sciences, computer science and data science, SimTech connects expertise across institutes and disciplines to advance the methods and foundations of simulation.
Our research addresses fundamental challenges in modelling and predicting complex systems – from dealing with uncertainty and integrating data to developing reliable computational methods and new approaches to simulation. In doing so, SimTech creates an environment in which disciplinary perspectives, methods and technologies can come together to tackle questions that cannot be addressed within a single field.
As a faculty-like center of the University of Stuttgart, SC SimTech provides the long-term institutional framework for Simulation Science in Stuttgart. It connects collaborative research, doctoral education, the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Simulation Technology, and scientific infrastructures – creating the foundation for new research initiatives, international collaboration and the continued development of Simulation Science as a strategic research field at the University of Stuttgart.
