The transfer of scientific knowledge to the business and public sectors is crucial for the prosperity of our society. Together with the Cluster of Excellence EXC 2120 IntCDC and the Rectorate, SimTech has revitalized the Innovation Ecosystem of Stuttgart, one of Europe’s leading high-technology hubs.
These initiatives led to the founding of TRACES - the Transfer Center of the University of Stuttgart. TRACES has become our partner and hub for enhancing our relationships with small/medium-sized enterprises and startups.
We are committed to increasing our support for startups, in the process building on the numerous accelerators directly connected to the University such as Technology Transfer Initiative (TTI), the Cyber Valley startup incubator, the Stuttgart M.Tech Accelerator, or the StartUpAutobahn and the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Science (ENI).
Our joint activities aim at making the large variety of transfer and startup support options more transparent and accessible for our researchers. Furthermore, SimTech appointed JP Benjamin Uekermann, a key contributor to preCICE and founder himself, as startup advisor, to encourage and support the founding and establishment of startups and fostering their growth as economic and innovation drivers for the region. Matching mentors are assigned to each new venture.
