After SimTech had already been given the opportunity to present itself as one of twelve motifs in last year's calendar of the German Research Foundation, the picture by Jakob Dürrwächter, Daniel Kempf and Claus-Dieter Munz was also selected for the DFG's Christmas card 2022 - a great honor for the SimTech Cluster of Excellence and the three submitters.

“There is a fair bit of turbulence around the simulation of vortex formation on a square plate from the SimTech Cluster of Excellence, an image that not only graces our Christmas card but also the December motif of our 2022 DFG calendar. As such, it is an appropriate symbol of the tempestuous times we live in as the year draws to a close. But even in all the chaos, there is always brightness and hope – something which excellent, future-oriented science is capable of providing again and again, especially in times of crisis.”
the card was sent amongst others to supports, friends and colleagues in Canada, the USA and Germany.
