From March 4th to March 8th, 2024, the third edition of the Young Mathematicians in Model Order Reduction (YMMOR) conference took place at the University of Stuttgart. Hosted by the Cluster of Excellence SimTech, the aim of this event was to bring together young researchers in the field of model reduction and related topics to foster scientific exchange and networking.

This year's conference was a resounding success, providing 37 participants with five days of intense discussions, valuable scientific presentations, and lively networking opportunities. From the outset, the atmosphere was characterized by enthusiasm and engagement as participants presented their ongoing research and received feedback and inspiration from their peers.

The organizing team, consisting of Jonas Nicodemus, Mattia Manucci, Jonas Kneifl, Robin Herkert, Sanath Keshav, and Tobias Ehring, together with the support of the SimTech Management Team did a great job in planning and executing the conference, as well as ensuring a diverse program for the attendees. Their efforts contributed to making the conference not only academically enriching but also socially rewarding.

"YMMOR 2024 exceeded our expectations, fostering not only scientific exchange but also connections among early career researchers from around the world. We’re thrilled that we were able to provide a platform where our participants could come together, exchange ideas, and support each other in their research and, of course, have a lot of fun,“ emphasize the organizers.

Initiated in 2022 by the YMMOR committee, the yearly conference is designed from early career researchers for early career researchers and allows participants to talk about ongoing research, to get valuable feedback and input as well as inspiration on how to tackle open questions and challenges.
