In her function as Manager for Diversity & Equality at the Cluster of Excellence SimTech,Almut Meyer zu Schwabedissen is part of the steering committee for the University's diversity audit process.

The University of Stuttgart successfully applied to participate in the diversity audit "Shaping Diversity" of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany) and started the process, which is scheduled to last about two and a half years, in August 2022. The goal is to further develop the university-specific diversity strategy.

There is a great deal of expertise in SimTech on these topics. Nicole Radde, the university's former equal opportunity officer, is also part of the cluster. She held this position from 2017 to 2021 and thus over two terms. Because of this expertise, she, Benedikt Ehinger and Almut Meyer zu Schwabedissen were also invited to participate as experts in at least one of the four dialog processes for the audit family-friendly university 2021. The University of Stuttgart successfully completed this process between October and December 2021 and is now entitled to use the "family-friendly university" certificate for an unlimited period of time.
