Science Communication Hour to Empower Researchers

March 25, 2024 / ts

In an effort to bridge the gap between scientific research and public understanding, SimTech unveils its latest initiative: the Science Communication Hour – SciCo Hour – for SimTech researchers at all career levels. This program aims to equip SimTech scientists with the skills and tools needed to effectively communicate their groundbreaking research to the wider community.

Scheduled every Tuesday from 2pm to 3pm, starting March 26, at the SimTech building (PWR 5a, first floor), this consultation hour offers researchers a platform to fine-tune their own ideas and communication strategies. Whether it's shaping public opinion, fostering innovation, building trust in science, or securing funding, the SciCo Hour aims to support researchers in achieving their goals.

What: SciCo Hour
When: every Tuesday from 2pm to 3pm

Led by a team of three dedicated science communicators, the program promises individualized solutions tailored to each researcher's needs. From refining elevator pitches to crafting compelling narratives, participants can expect hands-on guidance and support in navigating the complex landscape of science communication.

"We believe that effective communication is integral to the success of scientific endeavours," underlines the communicator trio. "By empowering our researchers to communicate their work in a clear, creative, and accessible manner, we aim to amplify the impact of their research and foster a vibrant community of science communicators within SimTech."

The Science Communication Hour invites all researchers to drop by, grab a coffee, and engage in discussions about their research and ideas. For those unable to attend in person, remote assistance as well as different times for a meeting are available upon request..
