Implementation of numerical schemes for river engineering problems in the development environment DUNE

PN 1A-2

Project description

Hydro- and morphodynamic numerical models are important tools for the investigation of river engineering problems. In recent years the complexity of the questions and the requirements to the accuracy and the reliability of the model results continuously increased. To satisfy these requirements a continuous improvement of the used numerical software is necessary. The goal of this project is to make recent and well-established hydro- and morphodynamic numerical methods available for the treatment of river engineering projects. The focus lies on the further development of fast numerical methods for the long-term simulation of bedload transport in inland waterways.
