From March 28th to March 31st 2023, IntCDC, SimTech, FoKUS, and TIK will organize a Software Carpentry workshop (SCW, https://software-carpentry.org/). The workshop targets doctoral researchers and students with no or only little experience in programming.
About the Software Carpentry Workshop
The Carpentries (https://carpentries.org/) is a community initiative that provides programming tools for the daily routine of scientists. The content of the workshop will be as follows:
- Using the Unix shell
- Version control using Git
- Programming and creating diagrams with Python
The workshop will not only be about teaching fundamental programming skills, but also about how to automate and reproduce scientific processes as well as possible. For instance, after attending this workshop you will be able to:
- Automate repetitive tasks
- Establish a workflow for keeping track of your work
- Reproduce tabular data for analysis and visualization
More Information and Registration
The workshop will be held in person, is free of charge and given in English. The premises are located on the Vaihingen campus, but have not yet been finalized and will be announced after registration.

Room 32.119 - University of Stuttgart, Campus Vaihingen, Universitätsstraße 32, 70569 Stuttgart, Germany.
The number of participants is limited to 25 persons. The deadline for registration is Friday, 24.03.2023.
