Diversity and equality are topics with very different dimensions. Privilege is just one of them. To put it simply, one could say that it is easier for some people than for others to achieve certain things. Origin (demographic as well as social), skin colour, appearance, illness or disability, gender, age, and sexual orientation are among those factors that make it harder or easier to achieve those very things.
This exercise can help you reflect and gain a new perspective on yourself in your everyday social and academic context. If you join us, together we will create a safe space where you and your fellows will spread out as avatars on a digital playing field, which might turn your perspective upside down. After the walk (about 30 minutes) you are invited to share your experiences with other participants.
This is a joint event by the two Stuttgart Clusters of Excellence SimTech and IntCDC and takes place in the course of the Diversity Day 2021 and the events of the University of Stuttgart.
A maximum of 20 participants can join the event, on a first come first serve-basis.
The language of the event is English.
