Daniel Weiskopf, professor in the department of Computer Science at the University of Stuttgart, acting director of the Institute for Visualization and Interactive Systems, one of the directors of the Visualization Research Center (VISUS), spokesperson of the SFB/Transregio 161, member of the board of directors of the Excellence Cluster IntCDC, and principal investigator of the Excellence Cluster SimTech, received the "2021 VGTC Visualization Technical Achievement Award."
During the opening session of the IEEE 2021 VIS Conference, he was honored for his research on quantifiable approaches, which has led to deep, powerful, and influential contributions to the visualization of volumes, flows, ensembles, and graphs. He was also inducted to IEEE VGTC Visualization Academy.
