The interactive online offering "I'm a Scientist, Get me out of here!" from Science in Dialogue is once again enabling an exciting encounter between students and scientists this week.

Cornelia Sindermann, research group leader at IRIS3D and SimTech PR, is taking part and will be available to answer questions on the topic of "AI and politics" from February 24 to 28, 2025: https://ki-politik25.imascientist.de/profile/corneliasindermann/.

The question of whether AI represents a threat or an opportunity for politics and democracy is particularly frequently asked, as Cornelia Sindermann reports. Students are also interested in how AI influences opinion formation.

Cornelia Sindermann describes these topics as the "big questions" that particularly concern young people. Their concerns about targeted disinformation and the manipulation of political processes by AI are clearly noticeable.

Another frequently discussed topic is whether large language models such as ChatGPT will one day be able to make independent moral decisions. Another topic frequently raised by students is the use of ChatGPT in schools and for homework. Cornelia Sindermann sees AI skills as increasingly important in many professional fields and emphasizes that the key question is not whether we will use AI, but how we can use it sensibly.
