This year a lot is different. For example, the company contact fair for students of Simulation Technology and related study programs, which is organized by the Society of SimTech e. V. in cooperation with the committee for knowledge transfer of the Cluster of Excellence SimTech.
"Especially in the current time it is important to create contact possibilities with outstanding companies. We are therefore particularly glad that we were able to offer a successful company contact fair this year", says Robin Strässer who is part of the organizing team.
Fewer companies than last year, but relatively more participants and consistently positive feedback. This is the result of this year's fair, which was held virtually due to the Corona pandemic. Doctoral students were also among the participants this year, and with ZEISS, Sowento and the Tech Startup School, three companies took part that are interested in the potential of our students and doctoral students despite these extremely uncertain times. In blocks of 30 minutes each, the companies had time to introduce themselves and explain how simulations are used in their companies. Afterwards questions could be asked.
"The many students and doctoral candidates that participated in our online fair illustrate the interest in exclusive company contacts in the field of simulation. We thank the companies for the exciting insights", added Robin Strässer. Lisa Tenbohlen, also from the organization team, also received positive feedback and sums up that it is nice to see "that we were able to put together a successful fair even under those difficult Corona conditions. It was great to see that so many students participated and a huge thank you to the representatives of the companies for their ideas and the exchange that they made possible".
Both agree that the company contact fair will take place again next year.
