Benjamin Unger hosts Brig workshop on dissipativity in systems and control

February 22, 2024

After a successful first edition of the workshop in 2022, Benjamin Unger, Junior Research Group Leader in SimTech (U Stuttgart), Matthias Voigt (UniDistance Suisse), Timm Faulwasser (TU Dortmund) will host an in-person workshop in Brig (Switzerland) from May 21-24, 2024 at the UniDistance Suisse.

“After the first workshop in 2022 was a complete success, we are already looking forward to a great workshop in 2024 with outstanding invited speakers and a great program. Especially as a young scientist, I am of course very proud that it looks positive to be able to establish our workshop as a fixed program item in the scientific calendar”, underlines Benjamin Unger.

The workshop which is topic-wise closely related to the research questions of SimTech’s Project Network 4, will address recent progress on dissipativity in systems and control, which includes (but is not limited to)

  1. the exploitation of dissipative and port-Hamiltonian system structures in control simulation and optimization of dissipative systems,
  2. energy-based modeling concepts,
  3. structure-preserving model reduction methods, and
  4. data-driven control methods.

Abstracts – either for a talk or a poster – can be submitted until March 1, 2024.

The workshop itself will be free of charge, but participants may be asked to pay a small fee for coffee breaks. Board and lodging will have to be covered by each participant individually.
