Since its founding in 2014, the Argyris Visiting Professorship has become a prestigious honor in the field of simulation science. Awarded by the Stuttgart Center for Simulation Science (SC SimTech) at the University of Stuttgart, this recognition celebrates outstanding international researchers who are advancing the boundaries of simulation science, fostering global cooperation and innovative research.

A Decade of Celebrating Excellence in Simulation Science

For over a decade, the Argyris Visiting Professorship has brought leading scholars from around the world to Stuttgart, furthering the center's mission to integrate cutting-edge data-driven research with simulation science. Named in honor of Professor John Argyris, a pivotal figure in the development of computational methods, this award allows global experts to collaborate with SimTech researchers and enrich Stuttgart’s scientific community.

An Opportunity to Innovate and Collaborate

The Argyris Visiting Professorship offers a unique opportunity for leading experts in simulation science to engage with the world-class research community at SimTech. The recipient will spend three weeks to three months in residence at the University of Stuttgart, contributing to research projects and participating in academic life. A highlight of their stay will be the Argyris Lecture, where the professor presents their work to a broad audience, sparking dialogue and advancing scientific knowledge.

In addition to the lecture, the visiting professor will engage in activities such as seminars, workshops, and mentoring sessions with early career researchers. The professorship is designed to foster long-term collaboration, providing the visiting scholar with access to cutting-edge resources and research facilities.
