DESCRIPTION:We hereby would like to invite you on Monday, September 16th, 2019 at 11:30 am in room 0.009 PWR5a to the talk of Sivakumar Kandasamy, a PhD student of the IRTG on Soft Tissue Robotics project from Auckland (New Zealand), on\nA varying angle fiber-reinforced elastomer as a soft pneumatic bending actuator.\nSoft actuators are inherently compliant and highly dexterous that are progressively replacing traditional electromechanical actuators in a wide range of robotic applications that involves close interaction with humans. His research aims to demonstrate the bending characteristics, and the force response achieved by a soft pneumatic actuator made from two different techniques, namely continuous fiber reinforcement technique (CFR) and split fiber reinforce technique (SFR).
