SUMMARY:SIGDIUS Seminar - online -
DESCRIPTION:The Special Interest Group Data Infrastructure offers a forum to interested working groups that want to set up or further develop an RDM infrastructure at working group or institute level. We invite you to a monthly SIGDIUS seminar, to which we invite internal and external experts for presentations and discussions. SIGDIUS members will have the opportunity to exchange their experiences with concrete RDM infrastructures.\nWe cordially invite all interested parties to our next meeting on 7 December 2022 at 2 pm. This seminar will be held as an online seminar. For participation, please send an e-mail to Juergen.Pleiss@itb.uni-stuttgart.de.\nJason Maassen (Technology Lead Efficient Computing, Netherlands eScience Center)Research Software Quality, Sustainability and Impact at the Netherlands eScience CenterIn my talk I'll introduce the Netherlands eScience Center and explain how we fund and participate in Dutch research projects. I'll also highlight some of our national and international efforts to improve research software quality, sustainability, FAIR software, and software impact.\nDiellza Elshani (Cluster of Excellence IntCDC, University of Stuttgart)Knowledge graphs as tools for co-designing buildingsArchitecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) projects require multidisciplinary solutions; therefore, one physical asset results in several federated disciplinary representations. Knowledge graphs with ontologies can integrate such federated data models. This talk briefly introduces the philosophical definition of ontologies and ontologies in computer science, explores data interoperability issues in the AEC industry, and presents a practical approach that allows co-designing buildings with knowledge graphs within AEC software using BHoM RDF. BHoM RDF is an open-source toolkit developed by ICD/CA, University of Stuttgart and Buro Happold.
