Scope
We are organizing the above symposium on the occasion of the 75th birthday of Prof. Dr. Dr.h.c. Wolfgang L. Wendland, a senior mentor of the SimTech Cluster of Excellence at the University Stuttgart.
The aim of the symposium is to bring together researchers from different disciplines such as mathematics and engeneering who are working on theory, applications and numerical simulations involving partial differential equations. The topics of interest include (but not necessarily are restricted to)
- Mathematical modelling with partial differential equations of problems in solid and fluid mechanics, electro-magnetic fields, evolution processes.
- Solvability and regularity results for linear and nonlinear problems.
- Applications of mathematics in different disciplines such as solid and fluid mechanics, coupled problems, biomathematics, optimization, inverse problems.
- Numerical methods including finite and boundary element methods, finite volume techniques, discontinuous Galerkin finite element methods.
