Working Committee Simulation Methods

In the SimTech Working Committee "Simulation Methods" challenges, aims and possible synergies are discussed in the area of Simulation methodology (e.g., modelling, visualisation, workflow and others). The meeting of actors from the Cluster of Excellence "Simulation Technology" with developers and users from the industry also supports early knowledge transfer and the initiation of new cooperations.

Numerous participants of different branches, from car manufacturing up to software development, appeared to the first working meeting. At the beginning Prof. Mitschang (IPVS), Prof. Leymann (IAAS), Prof. Ertl (VIS) and Prof. M. Resch (HLRS), Principal Investigators in the Cluster of Excellence SimTech, gave introductury talks to their fields and answered questions with direct content relation. Then Dr. Dr. Wechsler introduced into the results of the survey which has preceded the meeting. The primary interests derived from it were used as an introduction to the following inspiring discussion.

Agenda of the 1st meeting

Three introductory lectures of industrial representatives formed the core of the 2nd meeting of this Working Committee. Thus Dr. Wolfram Kühnel from the Behr & Co. KG presents project proposals in the areas aero acoustic assessment and heat transfer. Afterwards Philipp Nieding from the TRUMPF Werkzeugmachinen GmbH reported about variation management of mecatronic simulation models on the basis of an independent data format.

Finally, Dr.-Ing. Volker from the Robert Bosch GmbH posted the question "Quo vadis SimTech?". Together with Prof. Dr. Munz he illustrated his ideas for cooperation models and projects in SimTech which were focussed in the subsequent discussion intensively. The participants came to an agreement to develop a common roadmap.
