PN 9: Foundations for the integrative reflection and evaluation of simulations
Coordinator: Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Dr. h.c. Ortwin Renn
Research Areas: G
Number of projects: 9
The Project Network 9 was established within the SimTech Cluster of Excellence as an integrative platform of research in order to reflect and systematize the results of the other project networks in SimTech – and simulation technology in general – from a philosophical and sociological perspective. The proposed orientation in the field of simulation technology with the use of a threefold distinction between virtual reality, virtual actuality and real world systems design and control has proven to be a successful starting point for the development of vertical (System-Interaction-User) and horizontal (Virtuality-Interaction-Reality) integration strategies of research in simulation technology.
