Simulation technologies have become indispensable for solving complex problems and they influence almost all areas of daily life. New findings in modelling and simulation technology as well as new software and hardware components have made this possible. Science and industry are constantly posing new challenges to the further development of simulation technologies. We meet these challenges with innovative and holistic concepts:
- We overcome the status quo of decoupled strategies, theories and concepts of the individual disciplines.
- We merge the existing approaches and develop them into an integrative simulation environment.
- We consider all aspects of simulation – from models to interactive systems.
Organisation and Goals of our Research
In order to achieve our mission, we are guided by five central visions. To be able to implement these visions, we work in seven research areas and our scientists work together in interdisciplinary project networks. In this way, we promote cooperation between traditionally separate disciplines and thus the development of a systems science.
