1st EnzymeML Workshop held in Stuttgart

From 19 to 20 November, the 1st EnzymeML Workshop took place at the Institute of Biochemistry and Technical Biochemistry at the University of Stuttgart with participants from Germany, Great Britain and the USA.

The international workshop was a first joint meeting of experts from the fields of biological databases, biocatalysis, systems biology and modelling with the aim of developing a common markup language that can be used to describe experimental data from biocatalytic experiments and data on their modelling. Initiated by Apl. Prof. Dr. Jürgen Pleiss, who is also a principal investigator at SimTech, the workshop dealt with strategies for the integration of data and metadata from experiments and simulations that are also relevant for the upcoming Cluster of Excellence Simulation Technology.
